Marketing is a fast-paced ever-changing industry and particularly for a digital marketer, changes and trends can play a huge role in their work. For a Marketer or anyone Marketing their business, keeping up with trends can allow them to use this to their advantage and potentially get ahead of their competitors. The marketing trends list (below) contains information related to the digital side of marketing including Social Media and SEO's for example. As a huge number of small businesses are online this would be beneficial for them; so that they can use some of these to their advantage when it comes to making content and using online marketing tools.


DEATH OF COOKIES:

  • Google ends cookie tracking in EARLY 2022.
  • This will lead to a boost in CRM Tools.
  • This also means businesses will once again re-focus on SEO's and optimising any keyword searches.


SHORT FORM VIDEO:

  • Brands have already started to invest heavily in short-form content and this will only continue to grow as platforms such as TikTok & Instagram Reels get bigger.
  • Short-form video has also shown the Highest ROI (Return On Investment).
  • It is said that 51% of Marketers are expanding.

AR BECOMING MORE MAINSTREAM:

  • Augmented Reality (AR) is an emerging trend set to become even bigger and more mainstream in 2022. Businesses such as Gucci have used this within apps, and with the hype of the Metaverse this will only continue to grow.
  • Its become beneficial for businesses as it essentially allows the consumer to get a unique sales experience by allowing them to try the product before purchase. Additionally, it gives customers a more immersive experience.

INVESTING IN ONLINE EVENTS:

  • Marketers will move towards investing in online events which have grew 10-fold since the pandemic hit. It will help businesses grow in the long-term.
  • It allows collection of data in a different light, which can help businesses build a better relationship with their audience.
